Lab Welcomes New Team Members
18 February 2010

In Februrary, Sitekit Labs welcomed three new additions to the team: Kamran Farooq - as a PhD student, Juan Leon Solis - as a Lab Technician and TVSi - as an External Development Team.

Kamran Farooq - PhD Studentship for e-Health (uPrevent project)
After a long wait, we have finally found an extremely well qualified candidate for the EPSRC PhD studentship we were awarded last August. Kamran Farooq is currently employed by INPS an ehealth business so he is very experienced in the field of commercial software for the healthcare industry, but he now wants to do his PhD in the field. Kamroon will be starting at the beginning or March but unlike Erik will not be based on Skye for family reasons. He will be working from Stirling and will visit Sitekit Labs on Skye for 2 months each year. Thomas Mazocco will continue to work on Sitekit collaborative projects and also will spend time working from the Lab on Skye.

Juan Leon Solis - Lab Technician (Developer)
To support our three academic researchers, we have put in place a dedicated technical development resource to realise ideas as tangible and polished prototypes for user test.
Juan has been working for us on Farnush’s uPrevent project for a few months, and the work he has done is of a very high standard. Although he is based in Equador (UK -5 hrs!), he has already given good support to Erik's projects.

TVS Infotech - External Development Team
To support our intensive development programme, we have started working with TVS Infotech of Chennai, India (UK + 10 hours - giving Chris a long day!)
TVSi have an excellent reputation for outsourced software development and test, and this relationship allows Sitekit & Labs to be more flexible when larger projects are taken on.
