Sitekit Labs - Research Projects
Many changes have affected the World Wide Web since its first implementation as a very simple information publishing format, that we now remember as 'Web 1.0'.
Fast forward 15 years to today, and the web is a much more dynamic entity, in which the user is the focus. This sort of Copernican revolution brought us to the Web 2.0 era. For users, the first simple websites were 'read only', but during the 1990's they evolved to become more and more interactive. From static to dynamically generated, from handcoded to CMS-driven, from pure media to more and more transactional. This passage from the 'read-only' to the 'read-write' web was welcomed by users and turned out to be a powerful social and cultural phenomenon.
Now, a new era is approaching. So called 'Web 3.0' - the era of Web 3D, the era of Geospatial Web, the era of Full Video Web, the era of Semantic Web, the era of 'read-write-execute' web, the era of Intelligent Web Applications.
Sitekit Labs' aim, as a commercial research lab, is to be a leading participant in semantic web R&D - with the ultimate aim of commercialising Intelligent Web Applications of the future, for the benefit our customers and collaboration partners.
Current Projects:
Project 08/01 - Intelligent Web Applications. To develop and apply novel software agents using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies for blending the “OpenMind" database with any given ontology.
Project 08/02 - ehealth. Development of an expert system specific in aiding preventive treatment of cardiovascular diseases among patients.
